THE LIVING ATLAS

An Ecology of Relationship

A multidisciplinary body of work exploring relationship with landscape, creativity, place

and the more-than-human world.

What is the Living Atlas?

The Living Atlas is an evolving body of work exploring how relationship shapes the way we experience and inhabit the world. It grows through walking, writing, music, visual art, mapping and encounter — paying attention to the places, people and more-than-human lives that change us as we move through them.

Rather than a fixed map, it is a way of noticing: a living record of landmarks, relationships and moments that gather meaning over time.

A Way of Seeing

The Living Atlas begins with relational literacy: learning to perceive the threads between things our culture has taught us to experience as separate. It asks us to notice the systems we are already part of - the relationships, consequences and reciprocities that shape our lives.

From noticing comes understanding; from understanding, the possibility of responding differently.

The Living Atlas in Practice

The work moves between writing, music, visual art and walking; each becoming another way of paying attention.

Currently Developing

The Living Atlas; An Ecology of Relationship is an evolving book and wider body of work, continuing through writing, music, visual art, walking and encounter.

I am particularly interested in what happens when the Atlas enters unfamiliar landscapes: what new landmarks appear, what relationships become visible, and what a place might ask me to notice that I would otherwise miss.
