Welcome to Elfin Bow Art!

I believe in the power of creativity to connect, heal, dream and grow. Inspired by both the vastness and intricacies of nature, art has always been a passion and from a young age, I have sought opportunities to pursue her dreams of a creative life.

On my graduation from John Moore's University, I  was awarded the Stuart Sutcliffe Fellowship and embarked on a series of commissions, residencies and research projects on creativity in education, including a strategy for introducing philosophical thinking and making to primary school children called 'The Philosopher's Garden.' A founding member of SPLICE Artists Network, I collaborated with Liverpool galleries and artist-led initiatives such as FACT, Bluecoat, Static and the Liverpool Biennial to develop seminars, reading groups and exhibitions.

After the birth of my second child, I became a school teacher and took on the role of Head of Art at a local secondary school, where I empowered pupils to set up and run the Mezza9 Gallery. During this time I also founded Red Bear Design with my eldest son, Tom, working on a variety of projects including the branding and design work for singer songwriter and my husband, Gary Edward Jones.

Despite a very rewarding six years as a teacher by day and an artist by night, my burning desire to dedicate more time to my own artistic and musical pursuits has finally led to me returning to freelance work under the pseudonym, Elfin Bow, and I have some exciting new art projects in development including:

  • Making, selling and exhibiting art work.

  • Undertaking illustration work, private commissions and graphic design projects.

  • Delivering community art classes for adults and childrens after school art clubs.

  • Artistic Director for Gary Edward Jones Music

  • Making bespoke wedding decorations and head dresses.

  • Creative Partner for the Lead Creative School's Programme at Penyffordd Infant School and Rhos St School.

For me, creativity can be found anywhere and everywhere and especially when teaching, songwriting, cooking and spending time with my children. Drawing and painting, in particular, provide the space to think, to slow down, to tease out new ideas and to give balance to and  express what is going on in my busy life.

Please check out my other pages and feel free to contact me if I can help you in any way!

Testimonials

"I'm a huge fan Elfin Bow's work... each piece has such a personalised "touch" whilst embracing a special sentiment. Just recently, she completed a picture for me entitled "Moonlit Family" capturing a feeling close to my heart." Steve Barney, Client

"Elfin Bow is a true creative force. Not only did she exhibit her amazing artwork but she performed a varied set of self-penned original songs on the opening night of the 'Four Turns' exhibition at Cafe D'Art. She also wore a self-designed dress printed with her own drawings on the fabric. Her creativity expands in all directions.' Gill Jopia, Artist

"My son just loves art club! He has grown so much in confidence and is making things all the time at home. I can't thank you enough for the opportunity to be involved in such an inspirational club." Y4 parent.
